this version, the user can transfer a file much faster than the
previous versions.

Version
0.9.3
(Released on

-
The bug
#11 from previous versions is fixed. The bug was generated if the user
tried to change stable storage root on Windows switching form one drive
to
another (i.e. C:\ to D:\), moving security device folder will fail.
- The bug
#13 has been fixed. This was regarding to metadata sharing services
that failed occasionally.
- The bug
#14 has been fixed. Before, when a new item was added, the policies
always default to the same value. Now they default to the policies
assigned to the most
recently added item.
- Some previous
problems in the intergroup communications have been solved.
- The
installation of both binary and source versions goes through a
graphical user
interface GUI. This will generate the scishare script (under the bin
directory)
to run Scishare application. We still keep the previous install script
files in
case the user wants to use them.
- Changes in the application
logic:
-
Pseudo User now has a better
representation. It shows the user name as a part of user identity.
- There is a
notification message to the user if
for some reason of the services (metadata/data sharing) fails while
they are
running.
- We have improved
the http response protocol
regarding to transfering the files. If for some reason the user fails
to
transfer a file he/she will get a better information showing what was
the
reason for that failure.
- When running the
application for the first
time and if the user had an older version of Scishare, the user can
convert the
old settings of Scishare to the new one.
- Changes in graphical user
interface:
- The
different color schemes representing trusted, untrusted and pseudo
users are now applied to upload and transfer components of the
application.
- The user
can save the state of the application at runtime through File->Save
menu item.
Version
0.9.2.1 (Released on 08/13/2004)

checking for Certificate. This was a compatibility issue between Java
1.4 and Java 1.5 version. This problem was also encountered in MacOS
using
Java 1.4.2 Update 1.
Version
0.9.2 (Released on 08/10/2004)
-
The bug #10 from 0.9.0 version is fixed. This was regarding to
inconsistent behavior of "Restart" button at the search pane results.
- Changes in graphical user
interface:

users
are represented by
different color schemes.
- User can choose to see or hide
the untrusted users.
- The help feature has been
provided with a search engine.
- Pop-up windows of help has been
provided for security, and
preferences to help the user with a better understanding of
the
application.
Version 0.9.1
(Released on 07/23/2004)
- Changes in the application
logic:
- We separated each component of scishare
such as the
user can run them in a command line mode. For example user
can run independently sharing metadata and
data
services, add,
remove,
update items in the database, etc.
- Changes in graphical user
interface:
- Search pane and Transfer
pane are represented within
the same pane.
- Sharing metadata pane and
sharing data pane are represented
within the same pane.
- The application will load
user identity based on previous
state. If the user start
the application for the first time,
he/she will be running
the application as PSEUDO USER.
-
A bug from 0.9.0 version in the install script has been
fixed (binary distribution).
