PCCE Jabber Toolkit

Berkeley Lab
Welcome

Welcome to the PCCE Jabber Toolkit web pages!

As part of the Pervasive Collaborative Computing Environment we evaluated and extended Jabber as an alternate architecture for our chat and presence services. During the course of our evaluation, Jabber became even more popular and is currently the most popular open-source Internet Messaging (IM) protocol.

We have written a personal archiver component and have developed a prototype Python Jabber library. We run a Jabber server for the Distributed Systems Department; this is a public server so that we can use it to help connect with external collaborators.
