I'm a user interface designer, web application developer, and HCI researcher, currently working in the Computational Research Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. I received my masters from the School of Information at UC Berkeley.

As a practitioner, my focus is on designing and developing web applications that enable scientists to manage, track, and analyze their data. For my research, I use ethnography based user research methods to develop a deep understanding of how scientists work, including how they use high performance computing resources. I've also done some work evaluating the usability of API's. The hope is that this research can go hand in hand with systems research - combining the qualitative with the quantitative - to help improve the scientific process. On a personal note, I'm also a mother of two very spirited children.

I am no longer at LBNL as of Jan 2016. You can find me on LinkedIn to find out what I'm up to!
