Since February 2013, Eugen Feller is a postdoctoral researcher in the Integrated Data Frameworks Group, in the Data Science and Technology (DST) department at the Berkeley Lab. He works as part of DALHIS Inria associate team between the Inria Myriads project-team and the ACS department on the design and implementation of a software ecosystem to facilitate seamless data analysis across desktops, HPC and cloud environments. Before joining the Berkeley Lab, Eugen received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Rennes 1 (France) in December 2012. He conducted his research at the Inria Myriads project-team under the supervision of Dr. Christine Morin. The focus of his dissertation was on autonomic and energy-efficient management of large-scale virtualized data centers, which involved the design of novel scalable, fault-tolerant, and energy-efficient virtual machine management systems. Eugen received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from the Heinrich Heine University of Duesseldorf (Germany), in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
